Privacy & cookies
This page explains which data this website processes, why, and what your rights are. In short: I only use your data to answer your question, and the site doesn’t track you.

1. Who is responsible
The controller is Neal Van de Velde, company number , . You can reach me at contact@nealvdv.be.
2. What data and why
Through the contact form: your name, email address, message and, if you fill them in, your phone number, business name, how you want to be contacted and what you tell me about your project (topic, package, budget, timing and a preferred time for the intro call). I use them to answer your question and, where relevant, to prepare a proposal (pre-contractual steps, or my legitimate interest in following up on enquiries).
Technical data: your IP address is used briefly to prevent abuse of the form (at most 5 messages per 10 minutes) and by Cloudflare Turnstile to detect bots. That is my legitimate interest in protecting the site and my inbox.
Visits are counted anonymously with Vercel Web Analytics: no cookies, your IP address is not kept and you are not followed across other sites. That shows me which pages get read (my legitimate interest). The site uses no advertising and no social media buttons that track you.
3. Who processes the data
I don’t sell or share your data. These providers process it on my behalf:
- Vercel: hosting the website and anonymous visit statistics
- Resend: delivering your message to my inbox
- Cloudflare: Turnstile, the check against spam and bots
- Upstash: temporarily counting messages per IP address
- Anthropic (USA): the project assistant, when it is switched on. What you type to it goes to Anthropic to write an answer; I don’t keep these conversations, they only stay in your browser tab until you close it
Some of these services may process data outside the European Union. Where they do, it is based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
4. How long
I keep messages sent through the form for as long as needed to follow up on your question, and at most two years if no collaboration follows. If it becomes an assignment, the legal retention periods for accounting apply. The IP address used for the abuse check is gone after 10 minutes.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to its processing, and take it with you. Just email contact@nealvdv.be; I reply within a month.
If you’re not satisfied, you can file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (www.dataprotectionauthority.be).
7. Changes
If the site changes, I update this text. The date at the top shows the latest version.
